The micro:bit user’s group is an initiative of Seenov to bring this extraordinary teaching tool to Canada and help support those using it.
I have always been a big fan of the BBC and visited their web site regularly. In 2016, I stumbled apon the micro:bit and immediatly realized that this is a game changer. I decided to do my part to help bring it to Canada.
Because the digital world is growing at an incredible pace. We now pack more processing power in a single chip, a few millimetres in diameter, than in your old PC. All these processors need code and lots of it. By the time this young generation is 30, the digital world will be economically larger than the physical world. If we teach them to mine coal, they will be left in the dark.
Let’s teach kids to code, to innovate, to create and to revolutionize the world. (Hopefully better than we have done.)
Please join our community, its for the kids!
One last note,
We do have a vested interest in the success of the micro:bit since we manufacture a peripheral for it, the Solar Battery and solar panel. Nevertheless we honestly want to give back as much as possible to the community.
For the Decision Makers
If you have a role in education help bring the micro:bit to Canada, the future of a generation is at stake. Many other counties are going full steam ahead.
